I'm giving this style a shot. Usually it goes scan, paste into hi-res template, "ink," select a closed area, switch to color layer, expand, fill, rinse, repeat. This time, it went scan, paste into hi-res template, pen tool, holy crap I'm done before dinner! I didn't use Illustrator, just did it all in Old Faithful Photoshop, so that I could quickly give you the high quality content you, the reader, deserve, by which I mean, the unnecessary shiny reflection thing at the bottom.
